"The 1938-1939 season of lift-served skiing at Alta began on January 14 when the first skiers rode the Collins lift.  Those were the days when towers were wood and men were steel.  The grand effort it took to design, construct and run the second chairlift in America was preceded by the vision of the men of the Salt Lake Winter Sports Association.  These men put together approximately 1800 acres of private mining claims and deeded them to the Forest Service, feeling that a cooperative stewardship of these lands would best perpetuate recreation in Alta."  Onno Wieringa, General Manager

This book contains a wide selection of photos, both color and black and white, documenting Alta Ski Area's 75 year history.  Book comes in a slide-in cover and makes the perfect gift for all skiers who come to Alta, "...for the terrain, the scenery and the snow."
