An excited crowd gathered at the Alf Engen Ski Museum on February 7 to celebrate the Grand Opening of two new exhibits: the Virtual Ski Experience and the Hometown Heroes Ted Ligety Exhibit. The museum offers two new virtual rides - a ski flying adventure filmed from the peaks in Little Cottonwood Canyon and a thrilling trip down the bobsled track. Those participating in these new rides were most enthusiastic about the experience.
The Hometown Heroes Exhibit features uniforms and awards belonging to World Cup champion, Gold-medal Olympian, and Park City native Ted Ligety. Donated by Ted and his parents, Cindy Sharp and Bill Ligety, this exhibit displays interesting and unique items belonging to the ski racing champion.
