Carl Boyer

Carl Boyer started skiing at Pajarito Mountain as a youth. He had some unremarkable ski racing experiences in his middle school years. He followed some older siblings to the University of Utah and participated in the nation’s oldest University level ski teaching methods class. He took over teaching this class in 1975 at the age of 19. He collated, illustrated and expanded his notes to publish a training manual for the staff of over 200.

Carl achieved his Associate Certification in ISIA in 1976 and achieved his Full Certification in 1983. He became a full-time instructor at Snowbird in 1979 where he was still teaching in 2024. He was hired as a Divisional Education and Certification Leader (DECL) in 1991 for the Intermountain Division.

Carl was elected to the PSIA-AASI Intermountain Board of Directors in 2002 and served 7 three-year terms. While serving on the Board of Directors Carl served as Communications Vice President, Administrative Vice President, and President. Carl also served as the Intermountain ASEA Representative with National.

Carl has played an instrumental role in helping to develop Intermountain into one of the top regions in the nation and has given unselfishly to the membership through countless avenues. His passion for the sport and profession, his dedication and commitment to the Intermountain Region and the membership is unwavering.
