Jerry Warren is a native of Springville, Utah and began his ski teaching career at Timp Haven Ski Area (now Sundance) in 1967. One year later, Jerry became the Assistant Ski School Director. In 1970, he received his certification with the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). When Snowbird was preparing to open in the spring of 1971, Ski School Director Junior Bounous invited Jerry to assist him in running the program. Jerry was promptly appointed Assistant Director and served in that role for 17 years.
In 1974, Jerry was selected as a member of PSIA's National Demonstration Team. He participated in Interski (International Ski Congress) four times as a team member - in 1975, 1979, 1983, and 1989 - and two more as a member of the PSIA educational staff in 1991 and 1995. He served as Chairman of the PSIA National Steering Committee and the Vice President of Education from 1988 to 1991. He was the primary author of the 1992 and 1996 PSIA Alpine Skiing Manuals and served on the PSIA Board of Directors from 1988 to 2009.
From 1988 to 1994, Jerry returned to where it all began and joined the Sundance Ski Area's (formerly Timp Haven) management team as Director of Skiing and Mountain Operations. After a short stint at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, Jerry went back to Sundance in 1996 to assume his former position.
In 2008, in recognition of his years of dedication, service, and contribution to the sport of skiing and the ski teaching professions, Jerry received PSIA's National Lifetime Achievement Award.
